Pazham Pori is a sweet variety snack made with Nendram Pazham ( A variety of Banana). You may also refer to my other "Payasam" posts to refer to this fruit.
Pazham Pori is definitely an enjoyable dish for the kids. This can be taken as a snack on a relaxed evening with Tea or Coffee and its simple & quick too.
Ingredients:
Nendram Pazham ( Banana) -1
Maida ( All purpose Flour) - 1/4 cup
Rice Flour - 1 tbsp
Sugar - 3 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Cardamom powder -1/4 tsp
Oil - for deep fry.
Water - 1 cup
Salt - a pinch
Method:
Step 1 : In a mixing bowl, add all purpose flour ( Maida) , rice flour, turmeric powder, sugar, cardamom powder, salt and mix them well.
Step 2 : Add water little by little to get a thick batter.
Step 3 : Cut the banana into round pieces and some pieces into vertical halves ( just for a variety shape).
Step 4 : Heat the pan and add some for deep fry.
Step 5: Dip the banana pieces in the batter well and deep fry them.
Step 6 : Fry them till you get a nice golden Color.
Server them hot. Yummy Pazham Pori ready for a bite while you sip you Tea/Coffee.
Note:
Nendram Pazham is a banana variety which usually long and harder than normal usual bananas. You cannot consume the fruit as is some times and need to wait until the fruit top becomes a slight black ( its fully ripped fruit).
