#54 Kadai Paneer ( Restaurant Style)

Kadai Paneer is another jewel of dish in the Paneer family of dish making.This is wide popular in all parts of India. I am writing this dish to try out a restaurant style of Kadai Paneer.

This is prepared with Cottage cheese,capsicum/green bell pepper and Indian Spices. The restaurant style is got with the freshly ground coriander seeds and kashmiri red chilies. Best served with Naan or Paratha.

 

Ingredients for making Masala Powder:

Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp

Pepper              -1/2 tsp

Cinnamon        - 2 Nos

Bay Leaf           -2 Nos

Cumin Seeds   -1 tsp

Clove               - 4 Nos

Red Chili          - 4 Nos

 

Making Masala Powder:

Dry roast all the above ingredients in a pan.

Then add all the above given contents in a mixer grinder.

Grind it to a fine powder.

Other Ingredients for Gravy:

Onions - 3 ( Medium sized)

Salt    as needed.

Garlic - 5 Cloves

Ginger - 1 pinch

Tomato - 3 Nos

Kashmiri Chili Powder - 1 tsp

Green Capsicum  - 1 small cup ( cut into cubes)

Paneer - 200gms

Fresh cream - 1 tbsp

Butter - 3 tbsp

Oil - 1 tsp

Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp

Method:

Take a pan and add oil.

Add 5 Cloves of garlic , 1 inch ginger piece and 3 tomatoes ( chopped) + 3 Onions ( thin sliced).

Heat the pan in medium flame for 5 to 8 minutes.

Then turn off the flame and let the pan cool.

Now add the contents into a mixer grinder and grind it to a fine paste.

In the same Kadai, add Butter and add cube onion and green capsicum. Fry this and keep it separately.

Take another pan, add oil and fry the cubed Paneer and keep it separate.

Now, in the Kadai, add 1 tbsp oil and 1  tbsp butter and add the ground paste from mixer.

Add little water and cook till the masala paste  to get to your flavored thickened texture.

Then add 1.5 tbsp of ground masala powder and then add 1 tsp of Kashmiri chili powder.

Stir well and add 1 tsp of salt and mix them together.

This is the right time to add the the fried Onion and green capsicum. Mix it well.

Add 1.5 cup of water and cook the contents in a medium flame for 10 minutes.

Now add the fried Paneer. Cook for couple of minutes and add 1 tbsp of fresh cream.

Garnish the content with Kasuri Methi.
